Pre-Term | Information for Bologna Bound-Students

Bologna Pre-Term

Note that Washington Pre-Term operations are separate from those in Bologna. Class schedules, eligibility requirements and tuition will differ across the two campuses. Click here to be redirected to the Bologna Pre-Term Web site.

Participating in Both Pre-Terms

Students who have been accepted to study at SAIS in Bologna for their first year are encouraged to participate in the Washington Pre-Term prior to traveling to Bologna. Taking Pre-Term in both Washington and Bologna is an efficient way to meet the foundation requirements of intermediate Microeconomics and Macroeconomics while having time to take Italian. For example, a Bologna-bound student may take Microeconomics in Washington and Macroeconomics and Survival Italian in Bologna. Or a student may take Microeconomics and Macroeconomics in Washington and Intensive Italian in Bologna.

Pre-Term Microeconomics in Washington ends Monday, August 25, 2008, at noon. Macroeconomics ends Tuesday, August 26, at noon. The Bologna Pre-Term begins Thursday, August 28.

Bologna-bound students are able to transition between the two Pre-Term programs successfully. However please be aware that students will need to travel to Bologna, secure housing and move in, and begin class within a week's time.
