Returning students from the DC Spanish program can register online without talking to the Spanish Program Coordinator. All other students please follow the instructions below. Spanish Placement Exams The Spanish placement exams comprise two parts: (a) an online written exam, and (b) an in-site oral interview. Students are required to take the online written exam prior to meeting for their oral interview. Who needs to take the exams? All new students with background in Spanish need to take the online Spanish placement exam in order to be placed in a class. Students from the Bologna campus are required to take the exam for diagnosis purposes, only. We will place them in the class that follows the level they took in Bologna. Is the online placement exam the only requirement to join the program? No. You still need to meet with the Spanish Program Coordinator (Dr. Campos) for an interview. Following your exam results, he will contact you to set a time for the interview. Interviews take place during: The first week of September (Fall term); and The third week of January (Spring term) What happens if I register without taking the placement test? You will eventually be found and asked to leave the class.
