Proficiency Exam Requirements: Please note that only those students who have completed the intermediate high level of Italian language instruction (or have placed beyond the intermediate high level in the departmental placement exam) are qualified to take the speaking, reading and listening parts of the exam. (The minimum level to pass the proficiency exam in all the above skills, excepting writing, is Intermediate High). Students who have completed the intermediate mid level are permitted to take the one-hour written part of the exam. (The minimum level to pass proficiency in writing is Intermediate Mid).
