Italian courses offered at SAIS:

Intermediate Italian

This course aims to improve oral and written expression as well as to foster greater listening and reading comprehension. Grammar is reinforced as needed, and students read and examine articles from various sources. Learners also listen and discuss videos, newscasts and related audio material.

Intermediate High Italian

This course builds upon the Intermediate Italian course; more advanced material is introduced at this level through continued exposure to numerous newscasts, listening material, newspaper articles, debates and discussions.

Post proficiency

Please note that students must have passed all proficiency exams in order to take this course. The post proficiency course is held once a week for two to three hours, depending upon students’ needs. Discussions and debates on a variety of political and cultural topics are conducted.
