Professor Scott Barrett has led the success of the International Policy Program, which has become one of the largest programs at SAIS. We are delighted with its progress and continuing popularity. Its growth is a reflection of the continuing hard work of its faculty, students, and staff as well as a number of key supporters. We are grateful for the generosity of the following organizations and individuals who have helped to build our program: Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation: Provided a key grant to design and develop the Global Health and Foreign Policy Initiative, which has allowed us to develop an international health focus area within the IP program. Henry Luce Foundation: Provided a three-year grant to develop and test the Environmental Practicum to provide students with practical experience analyzing real-world problems within an institutional setting. The Starr Foundation: Provided funding to allow a group of IP energy students to travel to China to learn about the energy sector and the cultural, political and economic factors that influence it. ExxonMobil: Provided funding to allow a group of IP energy students to travel to China to learn about the energy sector and the cultural, political and economic factors that influence it. Additionally, ExxonMobil generously supports the IEEP. Robert Carr: Provided funding for a new course on Electricity Markets offered within IP. Enzo Viscusi: Provided funding for a new course on the Geopolitics of Energy within IP. John Metzler: Provided funding to help support an IP course on Global Climate Change.
