International Economics | Core Course Requirements

The two core courses of the International Economics concentration are:

300.707  International Trade Theory

300.708  International Monetary Theory

Together these courses convey to students the foundation of international economics and are offered every semester.  It is sensible that students take these courses as early in their economics program as possible as they form the basis for many of the advanced elective courses.  Students who have not completed these courses by start of their third semester will receive notification from the International Economics program to register for the remaining courses in their third semester.  In order to be able to register for International Trade Theory, you must have competed the requirement for Microeconomics.  In order to be able to register  for International Monetary Theory you must have completed the requirement for Macroeconomics.  (Please click here for:  Course Descriptions).
