Degree Programs | M.A. Program Requirements
 
Courses offered at SAIS can be divided into four broad areas:  International Economics, International Relations, International Development and Regional Studies.

All M.A. candidates must fulfill a concentration in the International Economics Program and a concentration in one other program, either a functional program or a regional program.  Students can also pursue specializations within programs.  All students must demonstrate foreign language proficiency and pass two core examinations to be chosen from the four core courses.  Each M.A. student must take and pass an oral exam in his/her two concentrations at the end of his/her course studies.  Please click on the programs and specializations below to see a detailed list of the associated requirements.
