Associate Dean for Academic Affairs The Associate Dean reports to the Dean and is responsible for: coordinating the curriculum approval of the catalog working closely with faculty program heads on course offerings managing the adjunct faculty budget and coordinating with program directors in managing part-time faculty, including approving all part-time faculty appointments and determining their salaries coordinating all academic issues for the Bologna Center, the Hopkins-Nanjing Center, and SAIS Washington managing the Visiting Scholars program, including screening and approving applicants and serving as liaison with sponsoring agencies coordinating with the director of the language studies on personnel, salary, and curriculum issues managing the sabbatical leave process organizing faculty retreats and other faculty functions developing liaisons with other universities for combined programs such as formal joint degrees or cross registration directing the offices of Summer Programs and Executive Education Programs
